Tenor Heikki Halinen started singing at the age of 8 at the famous boy choir Cantores Minores. For the past years Halinen has been studying with Professor Seppo Ruohonen and complementing his studies with the conductor Mikko Franck and with the Finnish National Opera’s artistic manager Rilla Kyykkä. Halinen has also participated to soprano Wilma Vernocchi’s opera singing master courses in Italy.
Halinen has enchanted audience with his Italian flavoured lyric tenor. Heikki has raised fast to one of the most desired tenors in Finland. At 2016 he performed the lead role Roberto at Puccini’s first opera Le Villi. The production was a great success and noticed positively in the Finnish main medias. Another notable debut at 2016 was as the tenor soloist at Verdi’s Requiem at Kuusakoski Church music Festivals.
At 2017 Halinen will be singing one of the main roles at Aino Ackté (I.Kuusisto) opera in Helsinki and Savonlinna. Halinen will be also touring around the Finland performing as tenor soloist at Mozart’s Requiem and as Edwin in the operetta Gypsy Princess (E. Kálmán).
For the 2018 season Halinen is assigned to the Savonlinna Opera Festivals where he will sing at the Queen of Spades (P. Tchaikovsky) the role of Chaplitsky. Halinen will also be doing debut later the same year as Don Carlo in the Verdi’s master piece.
Heikki’s repertoire covers music from classical to ever greens. At 2015 Halinen released his debute single Enjoyable Christmas with pianist Ilmari Räikkönen. Halinen holds the Master of Education degree from the University of Helsinki.
